SMS sign-in and consent
Rate The Fit is an iOS app that rates outfits. The only text message we ever send is a one-time sign-in code, requested by the user. We send no marketing, promotional, or recurring messages of any kind.
How a user opts in
Opt-in happens inside the Rate The Fit iOS app. There is no pre-checked box, no purchase requirement, and no way to receive a message without first entering a phone number and tapping the button. Consent is given by the user, for the user's own number, one message at a time.
The user downloads the Rate The Fit iOS app.
The user opens the sign-in screen, shown below.
The user types their own mobile number into the phone field.
The user reads the consent disclosure directly above the button and taps TEXT ME A CODE.
One 6-digit code is sent to that number. The user enters it to sign in.
The sign-in screen
This is the screen where consent is given, reproduced exactly as it appears in the app, including the disclosure text.
